bolt specs for rear trailering arms
working on a 69 chevy with coil spring rear, and am having trouble locating the bolts that hold the rear trailering arms to the frame. so, i figured i'd go to lowe's or home depot and see about getting those bolts, but i don't have the old ones to compare. anyone have the specs of these bolts? i think that they are 3/4" X 5" with 18 ct thread pitch. most appreciative. thanks

Oh man....I don't remember. Sheesh.
I got mine at Lowe's, but I have to warn you. That stupid store has decided to greatly reduce their fastener section recently. When Eagle was still in business before they were bought that's the only reason I went to that store. Now... Try Tacoma Screw. They're a good company (local), but they have a national 1-800 number. You can get just about anything from them if you order it. LMC will sell you them, but they're not grade 8. At least they'll have the specs. I could measure mine and get back to you....

i was afraid that that would be a problem. last time i was in there, though, they didn't have any grade 8 bolts big enough for what i was doing. anyhow, there is a fastener place close to here that i could try, but do you think that they would have that bolt, even without me telling them the specs?
i saw that LMC sells them, but i didn't trust that they weren't grade 8. if you wouldn't mind measuring it, i would appreciate it very much. thank you

You need 3/4-10 X 4" bolts, grade 8. You can get them at farm stores, hardware stores that cater to contractors, and fastener stores. I bought mine at a farm store, they sell by the pound, and are a lot cheaper than the hardware store. Your profile shows Houston, you shouldn't have any problem finding them.
