Nice truck mate. Congrats. Definitely subscribed to this thread.
Do have some questions and a favour to ask. You mention it's a 3sp column shift truck. When it was converted to RHD, did they swap gearboxes to one with the cover/linkage mounts on the right-hand side? or did they use the original box with left side cover/mounts? If it's still the gearbox with the left side cover/mounts, could I impose on you to take photo's of the entire linkage system? How the rods connect to the gearbox, how they connect to the column - and most importantly, how they cross-over from the column on the right of the truck, to the gearbox cover on the left. I recently purchased fellow forum member Leadfoot-Vanners factory RHD '67. It too was an original 3spd column shift vehicle but was converted to floor shift many moons ago, and unfortunately the rods & linkages for the column set-up are long gone. Ideally I'd like to revert it back to column, but would love to get an idea on how they crossed the linkages over - from right side to left side. It' easy enough for me to grab a local 3spd GM box with the cover plate on the right, but if the current gearbox is fine and in good working order, I'd prefer to spend my limited money on things that actually need it. Appreciate any help you can give. Best of luck with the build mate. Cheers! |
