Re: 34000 orig.miles not mine ... 71 chevy
That is really sharp!!
The bezel is in rough shape for that many miles, and the seat is faded bad too. Looks like it sat in the sun a long time, but the paint appears super nice. Maybe it had a repaint at one point. The CB is still there, and the white wagon wheels, both popular in the late 70's. Those things make me think that it probably wasn't driven much in the last 20 - 30 years so maybe the mileage is correct.

Re: 34000 orig.miles not mine ... 71 chevy
so, I wonder how much truth is behind this truck. He wants a heck of a lot for it for buy it now. It's all original, but it's hard to believe that with the speakers in the doors and those rims. The arm rest looks pretty dirty for as clean as the paint is. To me it looks like it has had some kind of resto. They spent a lot of time cleaning that dash bezel up, so much the paint is gone at the gauges but they couldn't get all of it removed.
Truck looks pretty nice though. Wouldn't mind cruising it around.

He also has it listed as a C10 and not a K10.

Not enough large clear "close up" photos to make any determination. As always, buyer beware. Maybe 34K at 20' or 134K at 2'.

Definitely not enough pictures or one's that are close ups.
I bet his reserve is pretty high. It looks to be a nice truck and all, but I am sure I wouldn't be willing to pay whatever his reserve is. I like how he states he won't give it away...lol Hell, he can't market it right IMO. I mean what engine does it have, what transmission.... So many things this guy has left out.

My truck, to the best of my knowledge, has 34,000 original miles. Actually 33,000 in this pic. Not 100% positive of this, but I do believe this is correct.

Re: 34000 orig.miles not mine ... 71 chevy
It's hard to tell really on actual mileage of these trucks. Mine say's 42k and some change. Title from previous owner was a Texas title and said 39k actual mileage, meaning between the 2 of us there has been about 3k put on it since. But who really knows. If the original owner happened to drive the truck and roll the odometer over, then sold it with 30 some thousand miles..... Unless there are service document's and such from the time it was sold off the lot till now, there is no way of knowing.
I like to believe that my mile mileage is correct for the body and frame, but really isn't relevant IMO because the only thing that will be original of the truck when I am done with it is the body and frame. All else is resto mod's.

The reason that I feel like the 34,000 is original miles on my truck is that I've known of the truck all my life. I remember the original owner, an old man, who lived about three blocks from the courthouse square in my hometown. Pretty much the only place he drove it was to town and back home. Around '95 my grandfather bought the truck from him. All original. 6 cyl, powerglide and 12 bolt rear. A couple of years of owning it the original 6 cyl froze and cracked in the winter. He replaced the 6 with a tired 350. After several years of asking my grandfather about selling it he finally give me a price and I drove it home that Sunday afternoon. I have since put in a stout flat top 327 and about a month ago took out the glide and I put in a 700R4. Loving this new trans with lock up with my 4.10 gears!!! Anyway 34,000, 134,000 or 234,000 miles... I love my old Chevy!!!! Or the "green thang" as my daughter refers to it!! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 34000 orig.miles not mine ... 71 chevy
I wasn't referring to your truck. Just a general statement referring to the trucks and proving mileage in general. Though, the owner of the truck on ebay does say he has service records. The statement that started me in on picking on it was he says everything is stock on the truck, which is not correct because of the wheels. Hard to tell what truth there is behind this truck. He doesn't state though if it has been repainted and such.

The seller is not offering enough detailed photos.Unless more detailed photos are posted, assume 134K. From the few that are posted, you can tell the front bumper has been repainted, bumper bolts should be stainless, not white. Does not look like original upholstry for a base model, should be all vinyl. Shouldn't the inside door panels be painted another color also?

Re: 34000 orig.miles not mine ... 71 chevy
The listing states 350 engine and the seller claims there are service records to support the 34k mile claim. So,not sure why anyone can say they don't believe it's true any more than believe it. There are not enough pictures and the ones shown aren't good enough to tell. The plating on instrument clusters can be destroyed with a single cleaning of the wrong cleaner. People didn't know that back then, just like they cut doors for speakers. Before I ever paid good money for a truck based on a claim of low miles,I would have to go personally inspect it or pay a qualified individual to do it. At $25k the cost of a plane ticket, car rental, and hotel room are petty expenses and worth investing.

Re: 34000 orig.miles not mine ... 71 chevy
As others have said, not enough good pics to tell much. However, it says the truck is in Florida, and as a native Floridian, i can tell you that if it's been in florida it's whole life, you better check it over very good. I don't care if it was in a garage it's whole life, these trucks did not survive well down here.
