Gas Tank Replace
Looks like it's time to find a replacement tank for my 63 SB. There are no rust holes or damage to the original tank, but I've had to remove the carb twice in the last year and "shovel" out the crud from around the needle/seat. I've searched around for tanks but haven't really found any good info yet.
What are you guys doing for replacements? I just want a standard replacement type, drop it in and go. Thanks Joel |

Re: Gas Tank Replace
I did this on my 66 GMC.........
http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G...0029&k=44JXfxh The kit for this tank was a new 84 blazer fuel tank with sending unit and straps. We did extensive mods due to the external fuel pump for my TBI engine, along with relocating the filler neck. Eventually we went with a in the tank fuel pump and that solved all the fuel pump issues. Re: Gas Tank Replace
Thanks for the reply. That's some very nice fab work! But, I just need/want a simple tank replacement.
I did finally find one from a vendor for about $200.00, looks like a drop in fit. Thanks Joel |
