Long time lurker with a new truck

Just picked up this 63 (end of October) guy seemed to be straight forward on it. It is an older restore with about 25K since the rebuild.

Has a 71 cross member with disc brakes, power steering and a 71 rearend so it has five lug all around. Has a running 283 with a 350 auto behind it.

Plans are to go through the mechanicals, clean it up drop it a drive it..I guess I'll find out in late October how I did,

Welcome to the forum

Looks like a fairly nice truck. Looks like the engine has been a little neglected though.

According to the owner it's a strong running 283 with 25K on it no smoking. Hoping its just dirty. It's got those cheap tin valve covers with no spreader bars, they're only good for leaking...

Re: Long time lurker with a new truck

Actually that's a pretty rare paint color.
It is Saddle Poly which was one of the
earliest metallics available on chevy trucks.

Welcome to the group, now as a 'discusser & not just a lurker Nice find on your '63. Wheels, just like paint, are a matter of preference...but why lose those killer wheels? Will they not clean up decently? I personally think they really look at home and almost married to the truck!

Re: Long time lurker with a new truck

I actually passed on this truck. It turned out to not be what I thought.

I found this one locally
