Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

I run P285/70 R15 BF Goorich radial T/A on the back of my 70. I went to price out a new set at Costco today and they did not show up in their system. I think they may be discontinued. Which really sucks because they are perfect for the look I am going after. I run p255/70 r15 on the front.

Anyone know where I can pick a pair up of the 285's?

What would be the closest match if I can't get his size anymore?

Any help finding some of these tires would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking them up on tirerack.com? Costco is notorious for discontinuing items. Just as you get used to a certain maple syrup, bam! It's gone lol

After reading your post I thought of this place (http://www.cokertire.com/). I believe they have your tire but perhaps not your size. They have some sweet vintage stuff though. It's cool that they are dedicated to making vintage tires.

I double checked, they do have your size! At least for the fronts.

Man thats a big back tire. Is the truck lifted? You might just have to run the same 255/70r15 on the back. Nothing wrong with that.

Hum, I've never seem BFGs in 285-70-15 and tire rack does not show anything in that size. That's a beefy tire, how old are they?

Summit has a 275 50+60 and a 295 50 listed, but not a 285. It maybe time for a new size rear tire.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

That size tire was discontinued when Dorky Coker bought the mould for t/As. I used to run that size on the rear and they were perfect. I went with the 255. Not bad just a bit smaller. Dead stock is the only way to find them now...

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

I think a few sizes of the T/A have been dropped,I ran 285/70's for a while and they are fat.

I used to see a lot on the back of '32 roadsters in my area and I thought coker produced it in a wide whitewall for the nostalgia street rodder Guy's.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

This really is a bummer for me. I loved my tire size and combination. It gave me just the amount of rake I like and gave me a beefy look out back. Last time I bought tires was about 7 years ago. If I only new I would have stocked up for the future.

Anyone have any suggestions on tire size that would give me the same look and rake? My rims are 8" in front and 10" in back.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

With some deep searching I'm sure you could find the 285s. 255 with the 235 in front is an option. I have that setup on some appliance torq thrusts. 8" though...

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

I'm running 275-60-15 BFGs out back.

Compared to 285-70s, the tread is .4" narrower, and 2.7" shorter.

255-70 compared to 285-70s is 1.2" narrower and 1.7" shorter

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

Does anyone have any advice on how to try to track down a set of these discontinued tires? Any kind of contacts or leads you guys could share with me would be greatly appreciated. I really want to find at least 2 of these 285's.

I liked the look too, the 285 is the same as a 31-10.50 /15 and Michelin LTX MS in this size are very common and a quality tire. These also come in 29-9.50 and 235/75 for the front. I have these on 3/4 ton and love them.

eBay. Also some kind of street rod outlet? These are/were popular with the street rodders.

Lee, that tire is a silver town. Not a T/A radial.

Yes just saw that, thanks. Seems to be limited options for that size.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

These Coker silver-town tires are spendy. It looks like they have a black side wall version. I just hope a set of my T/A's show up on ebay eventually.

Has anyone ran these Silver-town Coker tires? Any good?

Are those those the same as the T/A other than the Silvertown on the sidewall?

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

I also am having trouble finding the BFG tires I want. I need a set of 32 x 11.5 x 15 BFG A/T. They have been on national backorder since August but not discontinued. So I'm waiting.

The truck currently has some 33 x 12.5 pep-boy tires on it and they rub the front corner when turning in reverse which is a minor problem but worse is they ride like crap. Super soft sidewall and it wanders pretty badly on these old narrow country roads.

I like a lift (maybe the 2.5" soft-ride) but I don't want to pay for it and then maybe have to put money into drive shafts (again) and brake lines. Then I still have the cheapo pep-boy tires or more money for decent 33's.

As it sits now with stock suspension, a new set of rancho shocks and what appears to be a 1" block in the rear (I don't know if that is stock or not):

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?

Do you think these are worth $230 a peice?

Would it look weird to have the silver town radial on the backs and BF radial T/A on the front? I plan on running black sidewalls out.

Silver Town Radials have the exact same tread as the BF's With black walls out you are probably the only one that will notice.
