Found my exhaust leak, finally!

This exhaust leak has been driving me nuts for about 2 years now...following the engine from my 87' to my 84'...all new gaskets, flange donuts, etc...There was so much noise from the accessories, it was hard to isolate where it was coming from. Finally broke down and bought a new manifold and took the old one off, kind of a last shot deal.

So, I removed the sheet metal for the heat stove and found this...

That is the worst cracked manifold I have ever seen! What happened to it? Perhaps a large puddle splashed water on it while it was red hot...? There is NO other misery like driving a vehicle with a bad exhaust leak. The engine runs TERRIBLY and the fumes and NOISE are enough to drive anyone BATS.

These style manifolds are just known to crack. The right manifold I pulled off mine several years ago came off in three separate pieces. Amazingly, it only made noise when the engine was cold.
