1960 chevy Lcf

Hello,i am new here..and from Norway.like too build model cars and trucks..so my new prosject is 1960 LCF big chevy truck
need some info if anyone should have:wheel opening "fender flare"
how mutch this build out from the fender 6cm or 10cm?

i hope someone understand what i ment..i am not soo good in english..

You are asking for dimensions correct? So if somebody has an LCF can they measure out the fender flare distances and maybe it looks like he might need grille dimensions too since the LCF has a longer opening.

Assuming the tires pictured are the ones your are going to use, I would just build it out a little past the tires as it appears in the picture of the real truck. Unless you need perfection that is. I really admire your skill there, I used to build models when I was a kid but was never that good at it. Good work!

One more thought: the doors on those trucks are the same size as regular pickups and it would probably be a lot easier to get a measurement of a door than a lcf fender. From that you can convert the dimensions to the door in your picture and then use that to measure the dimensions of the flare in your picture.

Welcome to the forum Rune

I do not own a LCF truck, but I do own a '63 C60. The flares on my truck are not as wide as on the LCF. I can measure them tomorrow, and that will give you a reference to go by. Unless someone that owns a LCF responds sooner.

There are many similarities between the LCF trucks and the standard C40-80 trucks. If there are any other dimensions you need I will be glad to help.

I wish I had one here to measure. I have owned and have driven some of those through the years, although Conventionals, not LCF's.

Try to also get the Running Board measurement as well. They all are in the same line, but the Running Board Measurement along with the Fender Measurement should make it a little easier for you.

Also remember, there are 2 different widths on trucks out there and you need the wider one. Some trucks have the Narrow Fenders.

in the first pic you can see the torsion bar located by the frame rail, also in the 4th pic you can see the bottom of the rh control arm.
also notice the X frame

you could get these with a 348/409, that would be a fun motor to stick in it...

this green 61 had a straight axle.

some wrecker/tow trucks for you... not all are lcf, but are all the big truck...
notice that 3 of these , including the lcf were ordered with the big back window... it was common for the wreckers to have the big window for better visibility.

OK, I've got a couple pics and a measurement. The measurement from the outside edge of the flare on the front fender, to the point of the body line on the side of the hood, is 3-7/8". I know this is not a LCF, but it will give you some ideas for reference. I would imaging that a LCF fender flare would be at least 2 times this width.

If you need anything else, just ask.

I just realized I have a couple 60-61 wide fenders in the shop, mine measure out to 6 3/4" using the same measurements that capt. used. 6 3/4" = 17 centimeters.

It seems to me that one of our members here bought a LCF truck not long ago. In fact I am thinking he bought it in Spokane Wa. I just can't remember who it is.

I was the one who bought the truck in spokane and was looking for the master cylinder. I still have not been able to find the proper master cyl. the bores are 1-3/4 and 1-1/8

for a 1966 c60 wagner casting no. ff54846 If anyone can help please let me know gjcraw@aol.com

Thanks Jon. That's why I couldn't find it, it was in your thread. I was looking in all the threads with lots of pics of everyones trucks.

Does your truck have a hydraulic clutch? If so, you might try looking ata master cylinder combination for a '60-'62 Chevy C10, C20, C30. Also the GMC's used the hydraulic clutch from '60-'63. I'm not sure if they will have the 1-3/4" bore on the brake master though. You may have to convert to a different brake master and a seperate clutch master.

Do you think you could help Rune out with the measurement he is looking for?
