Mechanical Fuel Pump - what to get
I think I have a suspecting failing fuel pump and I would like to replace it. Had it replaced 4 years ago with one from NAPA. After reading several posts on fuel issues, most of the symptoms lead to a faulty pump. So I have been shopping around and leaning towards an Edelbrock 1721 Performer fuel pump for around $100. I have seen pumps ranging in price from $20 to over $200 that could meet my specifications. What have you experienced with or recommend?

I would highly recommend a 3-line.. Having a return line is recommended to help prevent vapor lock.. I'm currently dealing with this issue..

If you have a stock to mild motor a stock pump will do fine.

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump - what to get
Question: Does a mechanical fuel pump have gravity issues? My truck will fail trying to climb a steep hill, even if it is for a short distance. Will any fuel additive have an effect on a failing fuel pump?

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump - what to get
kinda.. a bad pump will let fuel drain when it's sitting... hills = loads.. so carbed based.. fuel filter
