What you drug home this weekend...
I am a member of another automotive board that has a very popular thread similar to this one.
Post your fresh finds all in one thread, I'll go first. This 4wd set me back $150 the other day. I was glad to get it. It was black when new. |

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
I was thinking the same thing. Looks like it has the front motor mount crossmember in it instead of the side mounts. I drug home something like this a few years ago was the first time I'd ever ran into that kind of mount. Nicely done for $150 regardless.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Good eyes! I didn't notice that until you guys said something. I did also see that it has a '60-'63 Deluxe heater box as well. And the front cab mounts appear to be in the '60-'62 location.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Can't really drag anything big home, but I did find something for my 60 GMC.
Found it at the local Goodwill and thought it would be cool for the gmc....just have to test it out soon.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Here's the last thing I dragged home.
I had my hip worked on and hopefully it'll stick. I'll be driving these antiques for the next two weeks (4 weeks total). It stinks being immobile but if it all comes together I'll be back and working on Cecilia (my 62 GMC) with my little helpers. If not I get to be a Bionic guy with a new hip. Lessons learned: Don't overdo it when you're young. You too could have a grandpa hip by 35.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
I've been working on getting this one for about a month, and I finally got it to the shop Wednesday night. It's a '66 short wheelbase 4x4. It is a little rough, but really not that bad. The original grill guard is a little bent on the passenger side, but I believe I can straighten it. I did get the passenger door, but the guy I got it from robbed the hinges. He said he has the hood too. I really don't need another project, but I just couldn't pass this one up for the price.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
^ Better you get it than the shredder. It looks like a nice score. Good trading stock if nothing else.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Thanks.......I'm pretty stoked about it. I've always wanted a short bed 4x4. Providing I can get the title for it, I will be driving this sometime next year. I have pretty much everything to put it together.

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
In MT it is very easy to get a title for a vehicle that has been lost.
Bonded title & away you go. |

Re: What you drug home this weekend...
Well I did the following to get my '65 C10 running. It had been sitting in a field for 8 years:
[*]rebuilt the rochester 2 jet[*]cleaned out the gas tank[*]changed spark plugs[*]drained and replaced the oil and filter I did the following after I confirmed there was no major mechanical issues: [*]rubbed out faded paint[*]installed corvette rally's[*]repaired electrical issues with tail lights I plan on doing the following next: [*]reupholster front seat[*]install new floor MIP from stock interiors Truck is a blast to drive. Looking forward to additional work. |
