Question Difference in side mirror arms?

Is there a difference in the side mirror arms, according to what style mirror you have? I currently have the boxy side mirrors, but wanting to get the round mirrors and want to know if I can re-use the same arms and change ONLY the mirror.

I do realize the bracket connection to the doors might be different, but if I can reuse my arms I wouldnt have to worry about that part. I want to know specifically if the shape/size of the arms are different.

My truck (style that I have) :

I just took mine all apart, painted them black, and bought all new screws, bolts, and lock washers, where the mirror attaches to the arm. So, I can say with pretty darn accuracy that from those two pictures you posted, both style mirrors should work. Somebody like SS Tim can probably verify, but I think you're good. Here's my paint job. It turned out really good, but I think I might prefer chrome arms and mirrors.

Here is a thread I posted some info in a few years ago...

Long69: I used a hammer and a "large" (#3 I think) Phillips screwdriver. Tap on the handle of the screwdriver as you turn it.

Yeah, a little. They were pretty rusted. Make sure you use a good screwdriver that has a wide bit that fits, then press pretty darn hard while you turn. You may need to use some pb blaster. Also, loosen them all a bit, but only remove one at a time from the bracket, then screw them back on behind as you go. If you don't do this, the bracket inside the door will fall to the bottom of the inside of the door, and you'll have to take the door apart to get it back.

Strangely, I've got one bolt I can't get to go back in. I'm just going to buy new screws sometime, but I'll warn you. They don't sell anything like this at Lowes or Home Depot. I was able to get the rest of the mirror hardware from lowes, but the mounting screws were a no go

Re: Difference in side mirror arms?

Spray with PB Blaster. Then put the screwdriver in the head of the screw.Take a hammer and tap the screw driver a couple of taps.As hard as you can without denting anything. The screws should loosen a bit easier.
