Incorrect fuel level
Hey, guy’s. Lookin for a little help here. My truck keeps running out of fuel/ sputtering when I’ve only used ten gallons of gas, and she really falls on her face when I get on it. My sending unit looks a little short for the tank, but I kinda figured it was correct seeing as the gauge level still reads a little over a quarter tank while this is happening. The previous owner had installed this unit new before I bought the truck, so i can't say for sure that's its the right part. Does anybody know the correct length of the sending unit?
Only other thought I had was maybe to try and attach some hose to it so it can really get down in there. I’d prefer just using the correct length unit though. Last edited by Double Stack; 09-28-2012 at 11:57 AM. |

Re: Incorrect fuel level
I would just insert a steel tape measure into the hole and note the depth of the tank then measure the sender height and if it is too short then get the right one. WLH
