Re: My new 1987 R10 Silverado (pics)

7 year old thread FTW! Let's see...in today's dollars with inflation he would have paid about $5000, however gas is now more expensive than crown royal so the real value of the truck today would be about $3500.

Re: My new 1987 R10 Silverado (pics)

Wow, this is an old thread. How about an update!

This is what is looked like this time last year right before the 700R4 started slipping.

This is what it looked like on January 1st of this year, getting a 6.0L/4L80E dropped in.

This is an outside build that I only have time to work on it is on weekends, so fastforward to November and here is the end result prior to cranking it.
Changed engine, trans, driveshaft, gauge cluster to the Dakota VHX, exhaust, LS wiring, etc...

This is the FIRST time the 6.0L was cranked after 6 years and a 5.5 year old. My wife cranked it. (No there wasn't a fire other than the lamp I was holding that burn my hand holding it to video)

This time was the 4th cranking, my daughter actually cranked it over. We were checking the fuel lines for leaks. After this I had to turn on the Theft on the ECM.

If anyone is interested, this is what the Dakota VHX system looks like at night, If anyone is interested in buying one, check my store here, if you create an account you can see special pricing/sales (email me if you don't see it):

I am documenting every detail of the build on my form here:
