Ive been searching the forums and i cant seem to find anything that tells me how to remove the outer door handles from my 72. Is the best way to do it to take the whole door apart or what? thanks in advance

Remove inner door panel, you can reach inside and undo the 2 bolts holding the handle to the outer door skin. Once you get the door panel off you can see up there.

Yes, you have to take the door panel off. There will be two 7/16 head bolts that hold the handle on. you will see the holes in the door to get to them after you have the panel off. One of the bolts is kind of hidden by the window channel but you can get to it OK.
