A body lift causes a multitude of issues, some are safety related. To lift a 2wd 3" takes some serious fabrication. A much better option would be to just live with some 31's, and consider a 4x4 for the bigger meats.

Re: i am looking to do a lift and 33s on my 72 c10 any ideas?

I have 3" fabtech lift springs and a 1" ball joint spacer on my 1967 C20. My moog upper ball joint has 10,000 miles and its shot. I have been running 285 75 16. They just cleared some timed touched the front bottom of fenders. Mainly hwy 200 miles round trip. Nice roads. I have tracked down a NAPCO longhorn. That's the frame that will be going under my body. I would stick with with 31s.

Don't know if it helps or not but my 68 c10 at stock height with worn shocks will clear 33x12.50r15s with no rubbing . I was curious as to how big of a tire would fit so I swapped front to rear and turned it fully lock to lock while having someone else bounce the front end and had no rubbing issues at all.hth Dan.

Re: i am looking to do a lift and 33s on my 72 c10 any ideas?

Just my opinion, and I don't mean to be abrasive. But, lift has no business being on a 2wd, and tires that big have no business being on a 2wd. If you wanted a mudder, you should have got a 4x4. Bigger tires = bigger tire shop bill. These trucks already handle like an old school bus, so jacking the front end up isn't going to help that any. I'd level it out, but I wouldn't lift it..

Buuuut it's your truck Do what you want with it, I'm just more about "go" instead of "show". You try taking that thing off road, even with 33''s and lift and you'll just bury it that much deeper lol

You could replace the C10 springs with some C20 springs. This would net about 2". You don't have to replace anything else either.

Not exactly 3", but here's my '71 with a 4", but once I get my fat butt into it it's probably 3"

With the age of these trucks, I'd imagine you'd have a hard time finding a body lift kit that would work. Stick with a suspension lift, if you really have to raise it up. Avoid lift blocks. Spend the money and get new springs for the rear, and new coils up front.

I agree spring lift is the only way to go. I know this is overkill for what you are looking to do but I used springs only on my 62
