Manual choke help.

Finally haha. The choke pulls it closed tight and it doesn't pull it back at all anymore until I push the choke in. Thanks again.

I looked at a pic of your motor.
You need a breather on the front of your valve cover. You have a plug in there now. If you leave it like that next you'll be asking why you're getting so many gasket leaks.

Glad you got it going. The pic you posted with the breather off helped determine that you had Rochester MV.

The vacuum break (choke pulloff) is for automatic chokes. The choke tries to keep it closed and the pulloff will open it so it doesn't flood and die after it starts. It's not needed with manual choke since the driver does the closing and opening.

Yeah thanks for helping me figure it out. And, I believe that's an oil breather I have on the front of my valve cover, at least that's what it said it was when I bought it from o'reillys.

What thing are you refering to? Do you have a pic of that also?

Depending on the year engine you have the breather is on the driver's side towards the front of the valve cover. If that's what you are refering to, it should have a hose with a baffle in it that went to an adapter that went to the breather. I can send you a pic of it if you need it.
