CPP Shock mounting stud questions
Are these studs for the front or rear shocks? Top or bottom?

I'm assuming this is for the truck in your signature. If so the studs are for front and rear shocks. It goes through the frame. You shouldn't need the brackets unless your frame is cracked or "wallowed-out" where the stud mounts through the frame.
We really need more info on the truck though.
