Re: Numbers matching?
Unless the truck was ordered by a California dealer it probably would not have the RPO K19 Exhaust Emission Control. Sometimes border state ordered vehicles will have them but not often and at the $50.60 it cost it is very unlikely.
The best thing to check will be the SPID, Protect-o-Plate and the build sheet. If your truck was built in Fremont the build sheeet or the remains may be in the seat back. If you have or find any of these please share the information.

Re: Numbers matching?
SSTim- thank you. Wasn't sure if it was SPID worthy. It's an Oregon truck
![]() In the info it says the carb could be a Rochester or carter. Is one better than the other? Any idea on what they go for? NOS? I learned more on this site today than I learned all last month on other sites! Whew! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Numbers matching?
Carter built Quadrajets under license from Rochester. In my opinion, one's not really better than the other, but I'd probably look for a Rochester if you're going all original.
As for cost, local cost (and condition) will vary widely. I know you can get a rebuilt Quadrajet from Summit for about $300. |
