Production numbers for GMC

I have a 70 GMC short fleet, with auto trans, 402 BB, deluxe interior, super custom, Sierra Grande, woodgrain lower trim. Is there any info on how rare this truck may be? How many were made, etc. I can find no info on GMC trucks, they must not have kept as good of records as Chevy.

Is your GMC a Canadian built truck? Heres a link to 1970 GMC truck production numbers in general (15,906 from Canada) of which mine is one, but it doesn't narrow them down to their weight, style, options etc. designations.

The U.S. GMC records were said to have been lost in a fire. GMC Paul has done a good job finding what is out there as far as numbers, but I doubt you'll get numbers that show engine options into shortbeds and that kind of info.
Anyway around it, you have a very desirable truck.
The rule of thumb is to take Chevy's production numbers, and divide it by 3.

Mine is not from Canada, but I will check out the site anyway. I have been told the truck was rare, but it's hard to tell who to believe sometimes. There seems to be a wealth of info here, Thanks.

Just stop at Barnes & Noble or a Books-A-Million book store and look in the automotive section; try to find a Cars&Parts soft cover book that has all the info

The restoration packets.
I don't have the phone number here, but someone should have it.
Just call them up, tell them your VIn #, and they will send you a packet of all the specs and options for that year truck.
I have all but 72 I think. I just call them every once in a while and tell them I bought another truck.
