Firewall insulation

Hi guy's, I have an easy question! I am putting new insulation inside on the firewall of my 1970 C-20, it had none in there when i got her. The firewall cover pads came with hard plastic fasteners. How do you get them thru the holes straight? Also there are two that are different(they are finer and have slots in them, where do they go?

Re: Firewall insulation

I had a hard time to get the plastic plugs in as well. I broke a bunch. Seems like they are to big for factory holes. Get different plugs or ream the holes in firewall bigger?

I have seen some rubber ones that are more like the factory type. Just don't recall who sold them!

Re: Firewall insulation

I believe Wes at Classic Heartbeat has the rubber ones custom made.

Re: Firewall insulation

Yes, That is us. We produce the exact factory reproductions along with the other firewall grommets that nobody else makes. They are made of siliconized rubber for exelent UV and oil resistance.

If anyone wants to order thse, just place in the note box at checkout that you would like them shipped priority mail if you want to save some shipping cost. UPS ground is a lot more expencive. WES
