1971 4x4 stock measurements
I just picked up a 1971 gmc k10 and it has too high of a lift, 6". I wanted to bring it back to stock height. Can someone give me some measurements of how high rockers and fenders are off the ground. Also spring eye length front and rear. On my truck the fronts are 43.5" the rear is 52".does anyone have any ideas on lowering it 4 inches or to stock height. Thanks

Looks like your springs are stock length.... I measured mine at 44" front and 51.5" rear.

I decided to just get a 2" lift kit from tuff country. Brought the height down a lot. I am running it with 32" tires. Has a great stance.

I am trying to decide if I want to put a 2" lift on my '69 short bed step side. I have some 33" tires on it but they rub and have some 32 BFG A/T on order. |

Re: 1971 4x4 stock measurements
My 72 has a 2" tuff country lift on it with 33 x 10.50 BFG's. I took before and after measurments of the lift only - prior to tires and the truck rose 4". I guess the stock springs had about 2" of sag on them after 40 years. I'm very seriously looking at taking off the Tuff Country lift and going back to 'new' stock springs. The truck is just a tad too high for me. Although the Tuff County lift is a super plush ride....
