anyone know a good mechanic?

first off i'll admit that i'm not a mechanic and i know basically nothing about engies except how to change the oil and change basic **** like the starter. My truck has been sitting in my front yard for over a year now, i put a new carb on it because it was spilling gas over the side and the new one did the same thing. I fixed the carb and now the engine is making a knocking noise. so i went out there today and was trying to find out where it was coming from. i started the engine and gave it a little gas and the carb went BOOM! and gas started leaking all over the place. I'm tired of messing with it and i just want it to run, so if anyone knows someoene, post it here please. thx.

Talking

There is a lot of talent on this board. I would suggest that you describe the problems a little more, give some history and specs on the engine and then ask for suggestions.

With help, you might can get it going yourself.

Just a wild guess, do you have an electric fuel pump on this thing?
