73 chevy C 10 Heater core hoses
I bought a 73 Chevy pick up and the heater core is cut out just hoses are hanging out I want to put a new one in but I see they have the water pump plug in they have a hose going from the intake manifold to the Radiator is that where I run the new hoses when I put the new heart core in? |

Yes, that's where you run your new hoses ... in place of that "bypass hose" that someone looped from the intake to the radiator.
The smaller 5/8" heater hose should run from the fitting on the intake to the lower connection on the heater core. The larger 3/4" heater hose should run from the top connection on the heater core back to the radiator. If your radiator didn't have the provision for hooking up a heater hose, you could remove the pipe plug from the water pump and run the hose to that location instead. |
