air cleaner paint opinions

I am sure there are many members in the past that have used the old Cadillac air cleaners for their projects. But the first time I seen one was on Spike38's project. I really liked it and ordered me one off ebay. I wanted opinions on paint color from fellow members. I am thinking about going Torch red to match my truck and white through the middle where the chrome is on the pic below. I am thinking of kinda doing the Cheyenne paint scheme, but on the air cleaner. What do you guys think? Go for it, or all red, or leave it black?

Re: air cleaner paint opinions

I say go for it. Matching the truck is cool. If it were my truck I'd paint it black or if the engine had a theme I'd match it to that in some way. Under the hood I usually break away from what's going on outside. But that's me and I appreciate what others do

Re: air cleaner paint opinions

Outside I am going stock and interior I am going stock super. But I wanted to play under the hood. Just got my lunati cam yesterday. Just a mild street cam, but I was thinking the red/white air cleaner would be different and turn a few heads maybe. Thanks for the input Special K!

Still looking for more options. I am leaning to black with red in center now.

Re: air cleaner paint opinions

Is there any issue clearing the distributor?

Re: air cleaner paint opinions

It is aftermarket. The originals had an issue if you convert them, but these have a spot made to clear HEI.

A over all picture of the truck would help us help u. What color's are you using now on the truck.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
