Need some fast help

Just finished inner and outer bearings - how much resistance should i get when I spin it by grabbing a lug bolt? It turns but can anybody explain about how much?

When I turn mine it goes around once. (Wheel is off) Front wheel.

Nevermind, I found it on the board searching. The castle nuts on my front bearings were completely loose when I opened it up!!!

I'm guessing you are talking about the bearings for the front. You should pre-load the bearings by getting the castle nut seated good and tight... in shade tree terms, a good grunt. Then, back the nut off to the nearest hole in the spindle that the cotter pin will slide through. You should be set.

I don't think you can really go by resistance because of variances in temperature, axle grease, new or old races, etc. Plus, pre-loading the bearings is important to lessen premature wear. Others may disagree.

Thank yo VERY much. I torqued to 40 then backed off to the cotter pin hole, I could here it set. The wheel is good and steady now but holy crud was removing the races a pain!!!

I did, it was the front left brake pad. It was rocking back and forth in the calliper. So I put some new brake pads on it and no more noise.
