back glass gasket question

i'm about to start installing my big back glass and gasket, i was wondering where the two ends of the gasket should meet at? when i cut out my small back glass gasket the two ends met at the top in the middle! i'm just wondering if its suppost to be on the top or at the bottom? thanks for any help!!

I put the ends at the top. I cut mine a little bit long and compacted the ends so there is no gap. It's been in for three years now and still no gap.

I did both of mine ( smw & bbw ) on the bottom. That's the way they both were.

According to the 1960 Chevy Truck Shop Manual the main seal gap goes at the top, and the bead lock seal is positioned at the bottom:
