3/4 Ton Rear Shock Mount Location
I have a custom CCSB that I need to get the rear shocks mounted to. I don't know the year of the frame, it has a 9.5" 14 bolt (semi floating) rear end and a 4" Skyjacker lift with their shocks. When I put the mount bolts where I thought they should go, the shocks were too short. Does anybody know off-hand or could post pictures of where the mounts should go on the frame? The problem is that I don't know how much stroke should be left in the shock when it's sitting empty...
Thanks! Last edited by deepnsteep; 01-27-2013 at 10:40 PM. |

Re: 3/4 Ton Rear Shock Mount Location
dont know if this helps, 1-ton shocks are angled differently then 1/2 & 3/4 tons. after breaking one stud, i ground the rivets off & moved shock mounts a bit. also bought shocks for an 8" lift,( 8" lift in truck) had 1/2" travel left, used shocks for a 12" lift, lots of travel. if you drive off road get shocks for a 6-8" lift. also were shock mounts moved when frame was shortened?

Re: 3/4 Ton Rear Shock Mount Location
The 10.5" and 9.5" 14 bolt 3/4 tons were mounted differently too I believe. The 10.5" were mounted on the inside of the frame, similar to yours, but the 9.5" were mounted on the outside of the frame. I messed with it a little tonight and it would work (driver's side shock is maybe 3" from fully extended), but I'm still not sure if there is enough stroke to extend the suspension.
