New Here in need of help
I purchased the Helix IFS kit for my 64 C10 and I am wondering if someone else has installed one. The problem I am having is the crossmember is 33 inches wide and your supposed to cut to fit the inside of the frame but my frame is 24 inches inside. If I cut it to 24 to fit I will be right above the lower control mounting hole and still will not fit in the frame. Any help would be awesome.

Re: New Here in need of help
Welcome to the forum, there is no shortage of helpful people here, have to agree with perro 13, a little patience. I see that 60 people have viewed your post, if any of these people had experience with your particular IFS kit, they would chime in. Maybe do some searching in the 60-66 FAQ thread (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=559678), and the Suspension Thread in the general truck forum (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...splay.php?f=25).

Re: New Here in need of help
There are many different skills sets in this forum. There are plenty that have done this or done something like it. Give them some time. I usually post something and plan on a week to get back with you with a good answer. Some of them will find the information with build pics and specs. Show pics of what you want to do and it will help in the response. I have not done this mod yet but I know Shooter7 is doing something similar. Look him up and PM him. He will be glad to give you advice.

Re: New Here in need of help
I'd bet that if everyone on this forum who wished to help were to answer, you'd get 8,976 identical answers that would be some form of, "I really don't know what you are referring to."
Sorry, but looks like none of us has any experience with these suspension systems. I looked them up several days back, and found them to be new-to-me, interesting, and quite pricey. Sam Last edited by luvbowties; 01-28-2013 at 03:11 PM. Reason: spell |

Re: New Here in need of help :update!!!
Sorry for the haste and want to thank all that did reply. Update just spoke to Helix and they are building me a new x member and lower control arms to fix my issue at no charge. they are aware of the x member being to wide and are addressing this. they build the kits off of the front track width at 60.5 but the x member that comes with it is 33 inches and the 1964 c10 chassis is 24 1/2 at axle center, so with that my problem is solved
