one piece rear glass

Is swapping my crappy rear slider for one piece glass as simple as removing the slider and installing the single glass?

Yes, you can interchange them. I actually wanted the reverse and took the fixed glass one out and replaced with a slider. Just do it on a warm day so the rubber is soft. I used glass cleaner as a soapy lubricant and seemed to work well.

Ivory soap works well also, a 50/50 %, mix soap/water in a spray bottle & wet the rubber before install

Re: one piece rear glass

Is your slider a factory one or and aftermarket one? If its a factory one, you will have to change the gasket. The OE ones are thicker than the aftermarket sliders.

Re: one piece rear glass

That looks like a factory one like I had. I had just bought a gasket from the dealer I worked at when I had mine. I'm sure other vendors on here have them for the one piece glass.

Re: one piece rear glass

Im about to get rid of my slider and go one peice on my 78. As i was Looking at glass for sale, the rear glass shows up as two versions, 73-75 and 76-91.
Anyone know what the difference is? I never knew this about these trucks.

Re: one piece rear glass

I am about to do this swap myself. Picked up a solid rear glass and gasket for $30 on Craigslist.

Are you using a CR Lawrence slider? If so, just use a one piece rear glass gasket.
