Double DIN Installation Kit

I see others have installed double DIN stereo's but I don't see where anyone mentions the installation kit required. I bought a Clarion double DIN GPS for my 69 and it did not come with a way to mount it. I expected that it would have a sleeve like the single DIN stereo's have where you bend the tabs to secure it in the opening but it didn't.

I see where double DIN installation kits are available for newer cars/trucksin many places but nothing for older stuff. Have others done this that can shed some light on what I need to do? I'm about to paint my dash and before I do I want to fit the stereo in case I need to do any other cutting or welding.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Double DIN Installation Kit

I made my own, but I wanted to make it sturdy. Pictures pretty much explain themselves, but screws just hold in the radio.

Re: Double DIN Installation Kit

Dont mind all the wires in this picture, it was when I was still doing the electrical. But heres a better picture, IDK how you could see them in that one pic haha. I got them off ebay and they came out of an audi, made my own seat brackets.
