Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

Where can I buy some factory type brackets for a stock TA Crossmember? I am working on flipping my brackets and the original ones got a little beat up when we were taking them off. Hotchkis has a kit with adjustable brackets but it's almost $300. The kit has bolts, shims, and U Bolts .. but I already have them. I'm just having a hard time paying $300 for these brackets.

Where can I buy some new / Good original stock ones I can just mount upside down?

Thanks..

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

Are you talking about the brackets that the front of the trailing arms mount to?

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

I was gonny say if you wanted my old ones for a small fee, I would order me an extreme drop crossmember. Would take a few days to get them out though.

If you're taking them out anyway, then yeah .. depending on the price, but I don't want to cause you any problems or whatever (?)

How soon do you need them? What kind of price are you willing to pay? I know their in good shape. No rust in other words.

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

I'm really just looking for some that someone else may not be using, but I'll call around and see what they go for new.

I appreciate the offer though .. I'll keep you in mind. I'm thinking with as many people pulling out the old cross members there might be a few laying around.

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

CC69,

I have a set of the Hotchkis brackets Im not using. Hit me with a PM and we can get something worked out.

Something to be noted though. The Hotchkis brackets are wider than stock, so you need a couple thick flat washers for either side of the bushing.

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

I posted a WTB in the parts section and just went with some stock ones. I would like to have the Hotchkis, but I just can't see paying $300 for their kit. .. plus I probably won't be adjusting them once they're in place. The factory flip should be perfect for my application.

Thanks for the reply though

I was just speaking of the brackets themselves. I used the rest of the Hotchkis kit. Sorry I wasnt clear. If you change your mind....

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

jmking9 -- I really, really appreciate it man. What a cool gesture.

I have already bought some from another member but again man, this is what's so good about this forum. It's so easy to need something, and just post it up. Usually within 10-15 min you'll find it. I just went ahead and bought them not knowing how many others might respond. .. but thank you brother. I've got what I need on the way.

Yep, that's what makes this site different from all the others.

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

No problem. The way I figure, I've gotten far more out of this site than I could ever give back. I am preparing to paint my truck myself in the very near future. And I've learned sooo much from you, hugger, and others in the paint and body section that I feel like shipping you some parts you need is a small "thank you"

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

Dave65 - I have an extra set of brackets. I paid 30 shipped.. Ill sell them to you for that.

On the bracket 'flip mod' it takes away about 3 inches of drop that your pinion "sees". In other words by moving the front trailing arm pivot point UP, it rolls the end of the trailing arm back down. In hard acceleration and/or cornering it can make a difference in overall handling. Take a look at my GMC build..the Hotchkis brackets do the same thing they just offer adjustability to dial in your pinion angle.

Re: Trailing Arm brackets for stock cross member

I am looking for a set of stock trailing arm brackets if anyone has some for sale. I tried posting a WTB in the classified and could not (or it was user error). I am wanting to change a 67 GMC 1/2 ton to trailing arms from leaf springs to get to an air ride setup eventually.
