Thanks! I welded the nut to the bottom of the tube. That way I didn't need a wrench if I ever needed to remove it. Plus when I build my gussets, it would be nearly impossible to get to that nut. I did similar to how I did my running board mounts.

Really enjoyed the build so far, it sure makes me want to start on my project, (below) but there has been a real drought as far as cash flow this pass year.

And we all know the three “T’s” of projects, Time, Talent and Tender(as in legal).

There never seems to be all three available at any one time.

I haven’t started a build report as I haven’t started the build…

Well, it's been a long while since I've worked on the '49. Been doing a lot of thinking on where I'm wanting this project to go. Should I leave the patina or do a two tone. Should I run steel smoothies or chrome 20's. Do I want a static drop or go with bags. Well, I decided on one of those things and I think I am going to bag it. I told myself that this is probably going to be a one time build and I need to build it the way I would want it. And I want it bagged. I will end up adding around $1800 to the build but it'll be what I want when I'm done with it. I ordered my 4-link setup today and have to save up more to buy the rest. The 4-link was the expensive part at around $550 for it alone, OUCH!. But thats alright. The next thing on the list is the bridge kit which will run about $260 shipped. Then it's all downhill from there. I don't have any pics of the truck because nothing has changed but here's the link I'll be running. Really like this setup and if I was to build one it would be very similar to this.

hey glad to hear you're baggin it. I'm making my my link bars on my 49'. Its expensive enough to buy all the other stuff. Can't wait to see the progress.

Don't know what it is but these old truck look sweet laying running boards. I had planned to build mine but by the time I bought everything, it was only around $50 cheaper than a kit that was actually designed for the S-10. Plus, I made a good chunk of change at the scrap yard the previous weekend so I pretty much got the kit for free. Next on the list is my bridge kit. Only $260.
