junkyard 67
saved this short stepside 67 from the crusher today! Most of the bed is in the back of the truck. Motor looks to be rebuilt and turns over. Now for the best part, clear title and only $600!

Re: junkyard 67
Hadn't really thought too much about it, just couldn't let it die alone so added it to my collection. I had run across an ad for a 98 stepside bed, and when I seen it was on a 67 it really had my attention. It looked fantastic on there and the guy said it will bolt right on. Guess I'm probably going to head that way with an older Iroc-z drivetrain I have hanging around. This truck is a ways down the list as I hadn't planned on buying it!

Re: junkyard 67
Must have been my lucky weekend! I snatched up a 72 camper special. Body is absolutely junk, but the chassis looks great.

Re: junkyard 67
Got the motor in the 67 running last night! All it needed was a coil and the points set! Well, it needed gas down the carb but only because there was no way I was using that thick varnish that was coming out of the tank!

Re: junkyard 67
Straight 6. Probably not going to be what I stay with, but that is far down the road. Just wanted to play with it before setting it aside.

Re: junkyard 67
Haven't done much, but thought I would update. Truck now has a 500+ HP Pontiac and 2004r trans that I had laying around. It's bolted in and some wiring done. I replaced the front drum brakes with disc. Thought I might get around to switching out the rear axles with 5 luggers and a posi unit.

Re: junkyard 67
That's a sweet score out of the junk yard. I am going to frequent so local one's once I get home. Going to see about finding one of these myself, hopefully a 4x4, when I am searching for parts. Living in town suck's though, so I will have to find somewhere to store it when I find one. That's the good thing about being in no rush for another project. Looking forward to seeing more of this junkyard find. You should start a build thread in that section. Awesome beginning!

Re: junkyard 67
Did a little work to it. Finally! the guy lied about the bed just bolting on! Not even close. It is bolted on now. Finally got some old fibreglass ground out of the top right corner of the cab. 3lbs of it to cover a dent and 1/4" hole. Passenger fender turned out to be junk. Core support is too. Hood had lead repairs done to it, but it still looks good.
