New to the 60-66 Forum

Hey guys, I'm not new to the board but new to his section. I sold the 57 project I had a few years ago and today I picked up this 1966 SWB. It's a one owner Cali truck with 72k or so miles. It's not cherry but for the most part it's rust and dent free. It's missing the engine but everything else came with it. It even has a factory tach. The guy still had the original pink CA title, receipt from the dealer where he bought it and the book with the metal ID plate in it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet except let it sit until I get a few other things done around here.

Welcome to our obsession

Looks like a very nice truck. It's pretty rare to find a one owner truck.

Welcome to one of the most helpful, usefull and friendly boards I ever had the pleasure to join.

Your truck looks exactly like the sort of truck I would love to find.

Will look out for updates as you decide what to do with it.

Re: New to the 60-66 Forum

I was also the second owner of my truck, and it was very clean as well. I know another person who did the same. I wonder if original owners have a higher regard for their vehicles than people that buy them used, or if it is just coincidence that the people I run into that have gotten one from the original owner have gotten lucky.

Needless to say, that is a sweet looking ride. Hope you have fun with it.

Re: New to the 60-66 Forum

Man the waiting is killing me. I've started collecting parts for the build so far I've picked up a 4 bolt main 350, 700R4 and a mostly complete 86 1/2 ton suspension donor. I’m in the process of having a shop built and have a 79 Malibu wagon to finish in front of the truck. But, I keep coming by here and looking at everyone else's projects and have started making a plan to build to. With all the great looking trucks here I've really started getting excited about digging into this. Maybe I can work on it some this summer…..

Welcome, and nice find on that one-owner. There's just something special about a vehicle being a 1-owner--esp. an older classic like your truck.

Remember to take lotsa pics 'cause some of US--US--would rather look than read anyday!
