Temporary exhaust?
I cranked over the 292 a few weeks ago finally. Feels like a milestone achieved and I am still so far away.
Radiator and fan is getting mounted and I would like to run the truck and time it next week, however right now I do not have an exhaust on it. The plan was once I was finished - take it over to Cole Muffler to have them slap on something. I am looking to mock something up temporarily for the exhaust for my 292. Running a stock intake/exhaust setup. Can I just buy the flange and build something to hold me off while I time it?

Re: Temporary exhaust?
muffler shops use the crush bent pipe for their exhaust systems.
no oem uses crush bent pipe for their exhausts, they all use mandrel bent pipe. if you can do basic fabrication and welding it is an easy project to do. buy a box of tubing and mandrel bends to make your own, it will be cheaper and better than any muffler shop can do.

Re: Temporary exhaust?
I don't know if that always holds true Ogre, The muffler guy I use can bend up a nice set of pipes that both look and sound good. A box of bends from a vendor doesn't come all that cheap either.
Focusontheprize (hope I got that right) I've usually scavanged up used or scrap pieces to put enough exhaust system together to get a rig to the muffler shop. Years ago I even raided the local Midas muffler scrap bin and hauled off a load of mistakes and scraps (all new pipe) that my students and I patched exhaust systems up with for quite a while. That was when scrap wasn't worth anything though.
