Replacing a front suspension on a 62
My neighbor has a 86 step side he is going to scrap and told me I could have anything if I want it. I already took the tailgate and felt a little guilty for doing that. I was wondering if I took the front suspension, hydro boost and Master cylinder could I get six lug rotors for that year 1/2 ton? I am trying not to switch the rear end or re drilled I will. He also has a 350 trans and if i'm not sure if it will bolt up to a 235. Many of you have done both mods, any Advice would help me?

Sorry I just noticed my grammar. If I have to re drill the rear axel I will do it.

You can get 6 lugs rotors.

Re: Replacing a front suspension on a 62
Yes you can use all of those parts on your truck. The TH350 will not bolt up to a 235 without an adapter. The aftermarket 6 lug rotors will only work with the spindles for the 1.250" rotors. That '86 could have either the 1" rotors or the 1.250" rotors.

Re: Replacing a front suspension on a 62
I don’t have time tonight to offer a more thorough answer, but the following threads should point you in the right direction. The first has to do with the front suspension swap on a 60-62 and the 2nd has to do with disc brake conversion options:

Re: Replacing a front suspension on a 62
Thanks for the advice. I'm still toying with the idea on switching the front end out. One day i'm for and another i'm not. It still will add a little more cost and time to my build. Not so much about more money because I think in the long run i will do the swap but the time. I will be deploying in June and would like to complete my build or get close. marke01 how long did yours take?
