Wheel suggestion. 16" x 6"
Help me out with some suggestions for 16" wheels. 5" or 6" wide, 5 by 4-3/4" pattern.
Does anybody make artillery wheels in 16" Hoping to be below $200 per wheel with caps. Not set on running caps, but leaning heavy that way. If I run caps I want them like the ones below since they are identical to my stockers. True spoke seems to have the best prices so far. http://www.truespoke.net/Smoothie.html Other option is Cragar Delux's. Will be running 16" tall skinny Cokers |

Wheels Vintiques goes 16x5 on the artillery wheels http://www.wheelvintiques.com/index....17-series.html
16x6 on the steelies http://www.wheelvintiques.com/index....14-series.html That's bare wheels that you have to paint or powder coat.

Yes, Wheelsmith is the way to go. Get on the phone with them and they'll make exactly what you want. I had a great experience with them on a set ofchrome OEM style 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

Just off the phone with Rex at Wheelsmiths.
No Artillery wheels in 16" Smoothies, bare steel shipped to my door with caps for about $700.00. Best price so far. |

I should have stated no steel in 16". The alum is beautiful......but the budget will not allow them!!

Re: Wheel suggestion. 16" x 6"
First off, you have a great truck!! It looks so solid, I'd love to find one as clean and original as that.
As for the wheels, the Smoothies would look super cool on your truck as well. Not to try and change your mind about the O.E. type caps but look at some of the others that might work, they are a little smaller diameter & might show more of the wheel. -'52 Chevy cap???- Not sure if you plan on black wall or wide whites for tires but what about a wheel color painted to match the pinstripe around your cab?? It looks like a bone/off white color. That might look nice with a solid painted wheel against a black wall tire. I love your picture of the cab and that pinstripe looks like new... Just an idea, no matter what you decide that truck will look awesome!! |

I am planning on running some Coker tall skinny's for tires. I like the idea of showing less cap and more wheel. Wheel color has been debated heavily. Red, and Satin Black were on the top of the list. I guess I never though of the pinstripe color. I need to find someone with photoshop skills. |

Re: Wheel suggestion. 16" x 6"
Both look good.. See if they can Photoshop Smoothies in a Ivory/Bone/light Tan color with NO trim ring and Black Wall ????? Still thinking smaller caps.. Just an idea!!
Also, are you going with a wider, deeper dish rim on the rear?? That might be cool.. |
