Engine towers
Is therE any differance in the SBC TOWERS versus the I6 towers,I know the I6 are longer and wont use all the bolts per V-8.Does it make any differance in the way the motor will sit?I am in the 6cyl spot with 6 cyl towers I am upgrading trans to 700R4 and thought I would slide it in the v-8 spot using the 6 towers.Does it make the motor sit up higher or any reason why I can't use the 6 cyl. towers????

Re: Engine towers
I did exactly what you are planning on my truck, and it did not cause any problems. The 6 cylinder drive shaft even fit because the engine was moved forward, but the transmission is longer.
As for whether the V8 engine will end up in exactly the original location, I don't know. I do not have one to compare to, so would be interested to find out.

Re: Engine towers
The HEDMAN headers I use are hitting the crosshaft a-arm bolt on drvs side.I allso replaced front engine cradle with a 74 model back in the day.Just thought I would do it right this time around but dont know if getting a set of SBC towers will help
