want to delete my antenna... anyone make a hidden one?

I want to get rid of the unsightly antenna from the wiper/heater panel. But I still want to listen to the raido stations, anyone know of a way to still get radio, maybe with a hidden antenna or some sort of fix?

thanks.

Get a Pioneer deck with supertuner, don't even need an antenna, got two cars that way, both I just pushed the nub down into the body then welded and smoothed it away. Picks up everything just fine.

One reason I have always stuck with them, that system they invented long ago pulls in stations.

I've had several friends with universal whip antennas frame mounted under cab. I currently have a universal whip mounted under my dash. The base is under the gove box and it points toward the steering column. I pick up both L.A. and San Diego stations just fine.

Re: want to delete my antenna... anyone make a hidden one?

About 5 years ago I installed a windshield antenna on rear window of my 68. I only have AM and it worked good in town but not so good out of the city. I reverted back to the original style since I did a lot of driving in the country.

I still have it mounted on the rear window. I fed the antenna/power cable up through the cab light fixture and out the bottom of passenger side rear corner. From there I ran it through the channel and to the radio.

If you find one short enough just lay it with some tie wraps above the radio under the dash area.

I have used a Tunetrapper antenna with great success. Found mine on Ebay.

this sounds like an easy fix, I'll try one of these perhaps, if it works well.

Thanks!

Re: want to delete my antenna... anyone make a hidden one?

I tried all kinds of ways to hide the antenna on my '33 Ford, tried one under the dash, one above the windshiedl header panel, and even one of those Dakota Digital ones that glue to the windshield, and they all were less than desierable. I now have a regular antenna on the back, works perfect. The moral of the story, if you really want the radio to work as well as it should, leave the antenna on it. Just my $0.02
