What kind of rear bumper is this?
This is a pic of my truck back when I first got it. I love the bumper but don't really see many of them on much of yall's trucks. Any idea what its called or the story behind these versus other styles? Were they only on stepsides?

Re: What kind of rear bumper is this?
They are known as channel bumpers and were popular before step bumpers, in fact it is really just a step bumper without the top plate. They were offered as accessories and of course aftermarket as well.

C-Channel bumper. Could be custom-made.

Re: What kind of rear bumper is this?
The channel bumpers were real generic and fit about anything thus cheap but functional. Remember some of the guys buying these would not buy a heater much less a frill like a radio.

Re: What kind of rear bumper is this?
Thanks SS Tim. I like the bumper. I think it gives it a more like a classic/antique truck feel. I dont know, guess that just might be me. They are also pretty rare so I like that aspect too

Re: What kind of rear bumper is this?
Mine came with one similar to that with a dealer name from Kentucky stamped into it.
