2" drop w/15x10 & 275/60

I have a '72 C/10 step and was wondering if there would be any issues (especially in the front) running this set up? Thanks.

I assume the reason I'm not receiving any replies to my original post is because my question may be somewhat redundant, and for that, I apologize.

I have searched to the best of my ability before the original post, and I'm still rather confused.

I would like to drop the front using 2.5" spindles and 3" coil springs in the rear. I'm finding that I can lower the front with just drop spindles and use the original springs, and others have posted that I will need to swap both springs and spindles in the front if I'm understanding this correctly.
If I use the factory coils in the front and cut them for the the 2.5" spindle, how much of the front coil should I cut??

Can someone clarify this for me, and does anyone know if a 2.5" and 3" drop will clear 275/60/15 tires mounted on 15x10" rims.

Please, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks again

Can you post a pic of the 5 stars? Even though this is a classified request, and probably shouldn't be here, I may be interested in swapping with you. As far as the wheel fitment, I can't see having any problems with it.

Thanks, but this isn't a classified request. The post is about lowering the truck and to obtain info if the suspension drop would fit this wheel/tire set up, and if I need lowering springs with the spindles on the front. I just tossed in the trade idea just for the hell of it, but I'll see what I can do.

You can definitely run 15x10 wheels and 275/60 tires with a 2 inch drop. Whether you drop the front with spindles or springs is a personal choice. 2 inch drop springs do ride very well and they are much cheaper than spindles.

The only caveat is that if you currently have old original coils, you're likely already at a 2 inch drop. They sag over the years and miles. Many a man has installed new two inch springs and found he didn't get his truck any lower than it already was.

2" lower than you are now might be an issue.
I like running 7's up front and 8's in the rear.

Thanks a bunch TX and lolife99. If my springs have indeed sagged approx. 2", would the spindles lower the front 2 (more) inches, or would it be the same affect as the original sagged springs or 2" coils? In other words, what would be the best way to determine a definite 2" drop from the current stance?

The spindles will give you the advertised drop. They are just warning you that your 40 year old springs have some sag to them so replacing them may not give the desired drop.

If you're running 275/60s on 10 inch wheels and install dropped spindles with good springs you'll be okay. But, if your springs are old and tired and sagging, you're gonna be pretty close to having issues with fender clearance.

A 275 is a great back tire and a good front tire for a very moderately lowered truck. But if you go too low you need to refigure things. That's a 28 inch tall tire which is nothing to sneeze at.

Thanks again Tx, I guess the plan now is to go with the spindles and 2 or 3" coils in the rear and try the 275s. Really hoping clearance won't be an issue, but if so, running a 255s may help.
