Repop Interior Door Handles?? Won't Align

So I got some new repop interior handles to put on but they won't line up horizontally. I put the old one back on and that one lines up straight. Anybody have any tricks? I looks like my old handle has less raised edges on the far outside of the interior handle when it mounts. I'm thinking I could file down the ones on the new one so it will line up easier??? The pic is of the new handle. If I try to line it up the other way the handle faces to far down similar to the way the window crank is right now.

Ya it bugs me too much. I might even try polishing the old ones the best I can if nobody else has any ideas and the file won't work...
