I am currently looking at capping the ends of my bed and eliminating the chains ,but I haven't any good ideas on what I really want so I am calling out to all those who have ventured here before! I need some ideas and any pictures which I can steal a few designs from sure would be handy !! Thanks in advance.

Re: Capped bed ends and hidden latch ideas!
I did the stuff from MAR-K and it works great. They send you a template showing the mods to the tail gate ends/sides for the stainless links to replace the chains and where to drill holes for the hidden latches. The only mod I did was to weld in studs where the links attach to the tailgate so there wouldn't be any bolt heads showing on the outside of the tailgate. It's simple and straightforward and looks great. I didn't take any pictures other than the finished product which shows nothing.

Re: Capped bed ends and hidden latch ideas!
Doggone you guys, you just figured out how to make me spend another 500 bucks. I need a tailgate along with the chain eliminators and latches.
I think I am going to have to put a truck together to sell to finance my truck now.

I used pipe caps to cap the ends of the bed rails, they fit perfectly. I used the hidden latches and the cables from another vehicle on the inside of the bed. No chains that way.

These are free or nearly so at the wrecking yard, and they keep the sides from bowing out while going down the road.
