oil pan hitting crossmember
after installing a 509 big block in my 72 c10 2wd i noticed the oil pan just about hitting the front crossmember.i have seen guys notching the crossmember but has anybody shimmed the motor mounts? i just need a quarter inch.i gave up trying to find a different oil pan.thanks

Are the motor mounts for a BBC? Are the stands in the correct location?

my truck is a old drag racing truck it had a 468 cu in motor that was blown up.the oil pan rubbed a little bit with that motor in it.i think it has the original chevy oil pan.not sure on the mounts, good question i will have to find photos of small block and big block mounts/stands and compare.the mounts look factory.thanks for the help i will try to post photos.

if it is only a quarter inch or so?? me i would take the torch get the bad area of crossmember cherry red and a nice large hammer and clearance the thing with a nice even relief/// oldschool modification been done like that for as long as i can remember

thanks GASoline 71 your right the po installed the big block on small block mounts,i did not notice till i saw a thread on the subject and saw the motor sitting up higher than mine.
