Welcome to the board. You came to the right place for info on these ol' things.
Heck, I have two and looking for a 3rd one.

I have noticed that the prices have really dropped in this area, so maybe it is time for a few investment purchases.

At my age I am use to the dog house, lol.

Re: I caught the bug

In all the builds i have ever done i have never seen one that the wires are not hacked into on but this one is that way. well I have decided that it is a pain when everything is near factory. The wiper motor is not good on it and of corse no one has them in stock this far north. this is the only time it is bad living in WA

Well son you could always come back to NM where you belong. I am you got it running and drivable. If I were you I would be quick to change that air cleaner. I never have liked or trusted that particular cleaner.

Welcome! We know how contagious that bug can be...thankfully my wife is infected as well (now if I could just get the in-laws and a few neighbors...).

yeah....my dad sold his 72 burb in the fall of '91 when i was in 5th grade, so 4 years before i started high school. what i did borrow a couple times was my dad's 84 burb c10 he had after 72. we stuck a 406sbc in it in 95 for better towing power and during solo driving it was like a camaro. with that deep first gear in the 700r4 and 3.73 gears i could go lay rubber easy. the truck was a rust bucket by the late 90's but we pulled the motor and it will eventually end up in my 72 burb c20. with 4.10 gears and 3 on the tree it will be more of a cruising/towing rig and less of a speed demon, but i do have an o/d saginaw-borg warner to go in for highway driving so i can get decent mpg. (i hear gas is supposed to hit $5 by summer 2012).

it is a 350... the truck came with the 327 originally but you know how long those last but the rest of the truck seems to be original. I have the protect-a-plate, owners manual, build sheet off of the gas tank, and build sheet on the glovebox as well.
