This is a spare which came with my truck - it was built in Dec '68, so I imagine it would have had hockey pucks on it originally, but now has fireman's hat type lights. The lens is marked '69

Re: my everyday driver 1969

Ok,well the first '69s were built in '68 yet the lenses are marked for the model year not the date first made. The second design is also marked 69 which leads me to believe some late '69s got these

Yep, that's correct. '69 and '70 the two tone option was the roof. In '71 they began doing the body side stripe as well (though I think you had to have upper and lower trim with that color option?)

Your original wheels would have been a plain 15" stamped steel affair with center caps, I believe the standard '69 hubcaps were white still
(This thread shows both white and chrome)
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=4580229

These are the correct style wheels, but the center caps belong to a '73-'77 truck and are stainless (the bowties are the wrong color)

Since the original caps where plain steel and are tough to find, many people use the later style stainless and paint them to match the original color scheme

I have my original spare wheel at home I can take better pictures of tomorrow evening if you like.
