Where can I buy new fuel tank saddles.

Can you guys give me a couple of places to buy some saddles. I looked in my LMC catalog but didn't see them listed. I have also heard that the nuts are not welded on the saddles where you bolt them to the frame. Is that correct?

Re: Where can I buy new fuel tank saddles.

My boss just replaced the ones on his 84 k-10 and the only place he could find them was the local chevy dealership I don't remember what he payed for them though but I don't think they where real cheap and I pretty sure he told me they where riveted to his frame.

got mine (f & r) at Classic parts. they have them w/brackets for the rock shields or without. yes, unless you have elf fingers, weld the mounting nuts on the brackets like the factory did

Re: Where can I buy new fuel tank saddles.

Is that price for the pair? That is a little more than I thought especially without straps. I will look at them but might see if I can find a decent set for both tanks at the local yard. So evidently you can't take 20 gallon saddles and use them on 16 gallon tanks.

Re: Where can I buy new fuel tank saddles.

All saddles are the same for 16 or 20. The fronts need to be side specific to be able to use the factory welded nuts. There are the 73-82 style (front shield) and the 83-87 style (full shield). I have sold over 100 of these.

Re: Where can I buy new fuel tank saddles.

I thought that you might be able to. The dorman part numbers above are for fuel tanks and not the saddles.

Re: Where can I buy new fuel tank saddles.

$75 a side without rock shield brackets at Classic, $21 for straps at local parts store. pretty much $200 to do both sides (just as much as the tanks!) or yeah, hit the junkyards
no clue how to load links
