Looking for some input......
I am posting this up just to get some other input on a project I am considering. The basic question is whether to tear it down and rebuild,or sell it and start with a fresh truck. The truck in question is my '70 shortbed panel truck. For those not familiar with it,the short version is it a is a ex-longbed pick up,cut down to short bed wheelbase, turned panel truck. Has all fiberglass interior, cage, alston rear clip,4 full race 4link,12 bolt rear w/auburn posi,3:73 gears.Turbo 400,shift kit.496 BBC.Front suspension has dropped coils, and custom lowered a-arms. Here is a link to the thread:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=381531 I have had alot of fun with it,but it is starting to get to the point I want to clean up a few things. I am wanting to get away from the pro street look, and my plan I am considering is going to keep the main body, motor, rear end,and replace/rebuild everything else.......trans,frame,suspension, want to go to coil overs to improve handling.Want to go to different trans, maybe 700r4 or somthing similar, even been looking at a manual 5/6 speed conversion. I just keep going back and forth about completley rebuilding it versus selling it and starting over. I keep seeing trucks for sale that are really getting my attention......so, I am asking for input from you guys on here. kl.kl; |

Re: Looking for some input......
I've had projects that I just plain got tired of.
Started off fresh with a new one, and had all kinds of fun even though it cost money. To me it was all about the discovery, learning, different feel, different look, and trying the things I saw and read what others were doing. Today I am all about one thing for the most part, and that is my 68 K20 burb being as original as I can make it to my liking. If you have the time and money, sell it and start anew with something that fuels your passion. If you don't have the cash, stick with what you have and recreate something that has your eye.

Re: Looking for some input......
Kind of depends on what you can get for it as it sits.
