need some serious vacuum help :(

hey guys i got a 78 el camino,just put on all the a/c components and all i need now is to get the blower fan working thru the vents?,keep in mind ive never had this on the road so i dont know what was wrong before...im not using or hooking up heat and dont have a heater valve on my hoses cause there arent any lol..im trying to run just max a/c when needed and have the air blow thru the dash vents but they only blow thru the defrost and floor at the same time no matter what setting its on?i bought a new vacuum ball cause oringinal was broke,and have good vacuum going to it from the manifold,there are 2 vac lines coming from the dash towards the ball 1-purple and 1-white/grayish ive hooked em up both one at a time and still nothing changes inside,so if worse comes to worse how do i (exactly) manually change the vents to dash? p.s all my vac lines are hooked up on the switch..any and all advice is appreciated thnx troy
