Re: 1971 c10 assembly manual
welcome 16jbean - you'll find this VERY helful (from Hatzie):
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=558016 It has everything except the assembly manual (you really only need his first to hyperlinks for download if you have a 10-30 series truck) - but you really need them (and they are free thanks to his efforts) - very helpful. The Service Manual is pretty much a requirement. An assembly manual is helpful, and LMC and a few others sell repros. They are hard to use becuase there's no index and not much logic to how they are arranged, seems I have to page thru the entire book every time to find what I want. But, when I find it, it's GREAT info. I'd download all the 71 stuff that applies to your truck (again, probably just the 1st 2 links) from Hatzie and order an assembly manual from LMC or someone. And WELCOME TO THE FORUM!! Show us what you're working on! |

Re: 1971 c10 assembly manual
An assembly manual gives a lot of drawings you would not see otherwise. If you buy it on CD I understand it is paginated and a lot easier to navigate. There is an index here on the board too for the paper copies. Mine just has a LOT of bookmarks.
Like Jocko said the Factory Service manual and the Factory Overhaul manual a must have. Also I feel a driver's handbook is a very useful reference for mundane questions like proper fuses or the more important questions like load capacities. A brochure is nice to have showing the trucks new. Hope this helps and welcome to the board and as alway we like to see pictures.
